View Full Version : Instructions Not Showing in Dialog

I have a Dialog (Password) which insists on displaying only the default
instructions and not my custom instructions.

I know this is impossible but it's happening. What have I done/not done?

I think you forgot to change the text resource. See attached screenshot.

Does this help?

Hi Friedrich,

That doesn't seem to be the case. See attached.

The actual Password dialog shows the default description.

Puzzled in Texas.

Hi Lynn,

I think you have changed the text resource identifier in the "Instructions"
entry. It should be #DLG_PASSWORD_TEXT# (see attached screenshot). What do
you have in this field?

And if you have created your own (new) text resource identifier then just
add this (e.g. #MYOWN_PASSWORD_TEXT#).

Similar to the attached screenshots...

Lynn,

Well, it displays your custom instructions, but Windows truncates it because
it's too much text <g>. See attached screenshot.

So what you have to do in this case is to create your own custom "Password"
dialog.

I have modified the example for you (and see attached screenshots).
