View Full Version : Clarion 9 Third-Party Developers (Build 10032)

All Clarion 9 Third-Party Developer,

SetupBuilder 8.0 Build 4000 already provides support for the new Clarion 9.
Unfortunately, there is a bug in the SB8 compiler. Under certain
circumstances, the installer does not detect the Clarion 9 environment. If
you have the "Disable Next button if no Supported Clarion Version detected"
checkbox marked, the compiler generates incorrect code.

We'll make a hot-fix for Clarion 3rd-party available soon!

In addition to this, the template installation / registration process
results in a "Errors were found on reading templates. See the Output Pad for
more information." error message (C9 IDE). The Output Pad reports "Could
not open include file MemTable.tpl" on our machines. Already reported to
SV.

Thanks for this update Fredrich

Now we can create our installers for c9 version safely.

BTW : Registering the IMDD and DFD or IP Driver templates BEFORE
opening the IDE (first install) is also NOT recommened as it will
result in a crash of the IDE. Could this be the same as "my" error ? I
reinstalled AFTER opening the IDE and all went well.

Hi JP,

The standard SetupBuilder template registration process (for 3rd-party
developers) can detect this IDE (first open) configuration scenario to avoid
the "crash". If the C9 IDE is detected as "not configured", the installer
asks the user to open the IDE before it continues with the template
registration.

SoftVelocity (per definition not a 3rd-party developer) does not use this
standard 3rd-party template registration process when registering the IMDD /
DFD / IP Driver templates.

I know that some 3rd-party installers do not use the "standard" Clarion
detection mechanism and use their own one instead. The "standard" method
displays the following in C9 (if the IDE is not "configured"). This avoids
the crash.

any method used by SV for their drivers would be better than an IDE
crash (personal pov)

Already fixed. Caused by having that template in the shipping registry,
but they don't ship that template by default. Simply re-install or
unregister the template until you get the driver installer (came last
night for me).

Hi Friedrich,

>> In addition to this, the template installation / registration process
results in a "Errors were found on reading templates. See the Output Pad for
more information." error message (C9 IDE). The Output Pad reports "Could
not open include file MemTable.tpl" on our machines. Already reported to
SV.

the TRF they shipped included memtable.tpl. So it keeps complaining that the
file is missing.
if you unregister that template from the registry the error goes away.
(or install the mem driver and it goes away as well.)

cheers
Bruce
