Thanks for confirming!!!!! :-)

The next Clarion 9 install will incorporate an updated .NET2 redistributable
mechanism for Windows 8.x (final tests are underway). Windows programming
has become too complex and has lost its way <g>

Personally I think the last "GOOD" PC graphical interface was OS/2!<g>

I agree 100% :-) I think I'll re-install later today -- I still have the
original package (see attached screenshot <g>).

YES <g>. I have at least 200 pounds of software lying around, all now
obsolete and nearly worthless. Welcome to "The Software Museum"...

Hmmmmmmmmm, you are right. Argh! All the machines here in the office are
missing an important hardware component: the floppy drive. I somehow never
noticed it in all the years <g>

Things change. Could you imagine the unsightly bulge of a floppy drive
on a tablet... much less a smart phone?!<g>

Hi Graham,

I used GEM to work with Ventura DTP 20+ years ago. It worked. Don't recall
it crashing:) I remember I rather liked the interface.

Best regards,

Hi Arnor,

One of these days all those old programs will come back.
Well all be writing documents with WordStar and creating DataEase
databases - Lotus 1-2-3 anyone?

Oldies but Goldies <vbg>

I bought a book (new, not used) from Amazon two weeks ago that included a
3.5 inch floppy disk bound into the back.
And I actually have two old servers with such drives, plus a USB drive that
worked to copy the MIDI files onto my laptop.

Now, 5 1/4 would be another thing. Let alone 8 inch...
