View Full Version : Getting the old SetupBuilder 4 Clarion

I need to update a program written several years ago for modern UAC
Windows. The original installer was written with SetupBuilder 4
Clarion. I want to look at the source for the installer so I could make
sure that the new installer includes all the original one did, so I dug
up the old installer for SetupBuilder 4 Clarion. The installer runs OK
on Windows 7, but when I try to run the installed SetupBuilder 4
Clarion, it comes up telling me that I have to have Clarion 6 EE
installed to run SB4C. But....I *do* have Clarion 6 EE installed. I've
run the C6 Vista fix. Any ideas what I need to do to get this old SB4C
working?

Ben,

IIRC, it was caused by a missing registry entry (similar to the attached
screenshot from a Clarion FAQ).

Perhaps an old SetupBuilder 4.03 trial version can help?

Please note that SB4 (10 years old, not code-signed) is not UAC-aware nor
Windows Vista+ compliant! So if you install it on Vista+, you might run
into problems.
