hmm. Fails to _install_?
sounds like maybe an Administrator, or UAC or firewall or something doing
the blocking?

cheers
Bruce

Hi Loren,

Are you talking about installing the SelfService templates etc for some
version of the Clarion IDE, or are you talking about installation of
the end product ie the service you've created?

Current product used on Vista and Windows 7 and now trying Windows 8 Pro.
Strange because it works on everything else.

Did you simply copy the files and then tried to getthe service to run by
calling it from inside the User-account, but "as Administrator" or did you
log-in as an Admin?

Or did you use an Install created with Setupbuilder?

Is the EXE code-signed, and if so, with the proper Manifest for Win8.1?

Microsoft likes to change things from time to time....

Setupbuilder always applies the latest fashion for Manifests, so better take
theirs, rather than the not-so-uptodate one Clarion-IDE generates.

So many traps available...!

Got all of the required DLLs available?

Does the exe run without being a service?
