View Full Version : SetupBuilder 8 and Internet Options

I have a customer who is getting the error below when trying to open a
file in one of our folders:
'We cannot verify who created this file. Are you sure you want to open
it?'.
We reply open and it goes on its merry way.
Google says to add the path in the internet options, local internet,
sites.
If we modify the local internet - sites, the error goes away.
Question 1 - does SetupBuilder have a function to allow me to add this
path to the internet options?
Question 2 - Is there something else I can do to get around this error?

Thanks in advance

Darrel,

It just tells you that the code-signing certificate can't be verified
because the user does not have the certificate revocation list up-to-date
(not a good idea).

The file should be code-signed (with a valid and trusted certificate) and
the revocation list up-to-date. If it would be possible to automatically
"suppress" this important security warning then we all should stop using
Windows <g>. I would consider this a security risk, if sites can be
included to a more trusted zone without user interference. There are hacks
available for older IE versions, but MS fixed the "bug" in later versions.
