View Full Version : Clean old files from Clarion9\BACKUP?

Hi Friedrich

My Clarion9\BACKUP folder now has about 500mb in over three thousand files.

I remember some years ago there was a tool (clear.exe?) to delete old backup
files from the Clarion install. Is there something like that currently
available?

If not:

As I manually create backups of Clarion9 before installing new versions I
don't expect to use the uninstall feature.

Would it be ok to delete the contents of the BACKUP folder and all
Uninst_Clarion_9.1*.* files?
Could that cause a problem when installing future Clarion releases?

Thanks!

Just delete the files and the folder.

Then create a new FILE called BACKUP (with no file extension) in the folder
where the BACKUP folder existed.

Then when the Clarion installer tries to move files into the BACKUP folder
the "CreateDirectory" call will fail (silently) and no backup files will be
copied.

I have done this since C5.5 and it works fine (with no adverse affects
since you already have other backups).
