View Full Version : SetupBuilder Error

Hi

I have seen this on rare occasions. The client downloads our updated
install set from the ftp site and when running it gets the following error:

Please enter the disk labeled #19, please enter when ready.

And then the following error:

And:

A decompression error has been detected
File: C:\New\EduLib.Chm [$6]

This client has tried many times and always gets this error on this latest
build of ours.

I must emphasize that we are downloading the same install set elsewhere and
installing and do not get this error at all. We are confident that the
install set up on the ftp site is good.

As I say, we have not seen this for very many years and now suddenly in this
particular instance.

What could be the problem?

Regards
Andre

He has received an incomplete file from your FTP server (e.g. caused by a
download transmission error). Let him check the code-signature and it will
definitely tell him "invalid". BTW, if you enable the "Installer Integrity
Check" option then the installer can detect this before any setup task is
executed.

You SHOULD default that option to enabled. It would save a lot of your
time and probably a lot of frustrations elsewhere.

Just do it already!<g>
