View Full Version : I'm confused!

Which is not a hard thing for me to be!<g>

I have a "Select Install Folder" dialog where I'm asking for a path.

Once that dialog is accepted I do some tests and if they fail I reset
the variable to a saved value and use "Cycle Loop" to re-select the
same dialog.

Problem is that the variable on the dialog is not refreshed with the
saved value even though opening a message dialog shows that it has
been reset. I tried "Refresh Next Dialog" but that did nothing.

Any ideas?

Charles,

> Does that help?

Compare to mine which does NOT work. Yes, when the test fails, it
returns to the same dialog but the value in the entry is not reset as
I would expect it to be since it's value has been reset from a saved
version... which does have a different value!<g>

"Refresh Next Dialog" doesn't help or hinder.

You can look through the 4 steps and see that the value does not get
updated when you return to the dialog. Unless my poor snow bound brain
is failing me<g> the path displayed should be updated.

Lee,

-- after your:

Set Variable %CONFIGDIR_PATH% to "%CONFIGDIR_PATH_SAVED%"

-- add this and remove the "Regresh Next Dialog" command:

Set Text "%CONFIGDIR_PATH_SAVED%" to ControlID "$DESTINATION_EDIT1$"

Does this help?

Friedrich,

> Set Text "%CONFIGDIR_PATH_SAVED%" to ControlID "$DESTINATION_EDIT1$"

I don't see a "Set Text" anywhere so, no<g>, it doesn't help.

Let's all trudge through the snow and go to the dentist!!!!<g>

THANK YOU!

Now it works as expected.

You need to add a new section to the help file...
