SetupBuilder Forums are back online, but we are still not done.

The server will be on and off until sometime Sunday afternoon, but never
completely down for more than five minutes.

One thing is for sure. I hate non-Windows servers. I hate them so much...
It feels so 1970s and it's such a waste of time. Do I feel better for
having said it? No, not really, but I still needed to say it anyway. Ohhhh
boy....

The SetupBuilder Forums are back, but I still have to rebuild the "search
index".

What's not to like? Oh, you mean the 65 page command line to do what
you need or the 3 line RegEx statement to find the file you want?<bg>

Some time ago I was looking at some open source program. I lost my
place in the installation process at the first $ - which happened to be
the first character of the first thing to do... At least I think it was
$ - might have been $#%#!@@@ <g>

Best regards,

I noticed their docs are written for those who already know what they
are doing. So why did someone even bother writing them? <bg>

Hehehe...

IMHO the #1 reason to use non-Windows servers today is "Job Security" for
whoever the person was that installed them!

The sad part is that no doubt we both still remember the command for it (as
for WordStar and WordPerfect too<g>).

Those are brain cells that we are never going to get back!

This past summer I played a little game with a guy where I told him to pick
any combination of display types, RAM, math co-processor (or not) and
floppy drives. For either the PC or the XT.

I could name the DIP switch settings needed for any of them<g>

We all know how useful THAT is!

I remember F5 was important in WP, but I've tried very hard to forget
what it does, and apparently I have succeeded;)

Best regards,

<VBG>

I contacted our hosting provider several times over the weekend to ask how
to do this and that. They sent instructions, but I only received corrupted
emails or messages in binary format. Epic fail on my side, that where the
commands I had to enter <g>

Everything is working fine now! My well earned weekend has been wrecked by
this.
