All,

On July 29, 2015 Windows 10 will be released. With SetupBuilder 8.5 you are
already prepared. But there will be more goodies to come... We'll provide
enhanced support for Windows 10 in the next SetupBuilder version.
Programmatically pin your applications to the new Start Menu Live Tiles
section without going through the Windows Store, use the new production
runtimes for .NET 4.6, Visual C++ 14, and more new powerful features.

On August 31, 2005 we released the first version of our "Next Generation"
SetupBuilder product, Version 5. SetupBuilder Version 6 provided support
for Vista (RTM), SetupBuilder 7 supported Windows 7 (RTM), SetupBuilder 8
introduced support for Windows 8 (RTM) and SetupBuilder 8.1 was ready for
Windows 8.1 (RTM).

Exactly 10 years later, on August 31, 2015 we'll release SetupBuilder 10.
Based on Microsoft's jump from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 (and skipping
Windows 9) we also decided to jump to Version 10 to reflect full support for
Windows 10 (RTM).

SetupBuilder 10 will be available, free of charge, to all SetupBuilder
customers who have an active SetupBuilder maintenance and support plan. If
you do not have an active plan, please contact us at sales@lindersoft.com.

Hi Friedrich,

Congrats.

You see I told you years ago that you (SetupBuilder) is going to become a
standard and a force to be reckoned with.

You have already proven it so many times over I stopped counting.

Well deserved recognition for you (SetupBuilder).

Regards

Johan de Klerk

First test results from the latest internal SetupBuilder 10 running on
Windows 10 (Final).

I am happy and proud to announce that our brand new "Pin to Start Screen"
feature is perfectly supported by Windows 10 (RTM). This new functionality
will help quite a few of our customers with a large installation base to
save a significant amount of support costs.

Normally, applications which are installed during deployment can NOT be
automatically pinned to the Start Screen in Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
This is a significant and permanent change in Start Screen behavior from
Windows 8.0. As a result, many computer users can't find the installed
application in Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. However, the new "Pin to Start"
SetupBuilder feature lets you do the impossible -- automatically pin your
application to the Start screen, back to where you deserve it to be!

See attached screenshots.

Thats really cool!

But still a question: Can I set that in the SB-script being optional? For those
who do not want it in the StartMenu?

Hi Wolfgang,

Yes, pinning to the Start Menu 'Live Tiles' is entirely optional. You have
full control over the pinning option.
