View Full Version : Can't add install to Add/Remove programs

Hi Friedrich,

I'm unable to get SB to add the un-install to the Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel. These are the options I’ve used. I’ve tried with a constant in the update URL, but it does not make a difference.

Could you cast your eye and let me know if you see anything, or what I should be looking for elsewhere?

Thanks very much

Hi Geoff,

Just send your project file to support [at] lindersoft [dot] com and we can
tell you what causes this.

BTW, your installer has to run elevated to add the entries.

Hi Friedrich,

Thanks for the pointer. Execution level is set to asInvoker so I'll try with
RequireAdministrator, and if I'm still not coming right, I will forward to
you for a once over.

And if you really have to do an asInvoker "per-user" (instead of a "machine
wide") install, then you can switch the installer to per-user mode and this
will create the Add/Remove Programs entry for the current user.

Please see the attached screenshots.

1. "UAC Execution Level" is set to "asInvoker" and the installation
directory is set to a "unprotected" folder.

2. In the Script Editor, use "Set Installer Flag..." to switch the
installation to per-user mode (do not mark the "Set Flag" checkbox option
for the $SB_ALLUSERFLAG$" flag).

This will create a "per-user" item for the current user.

Does this help?

Friedrich,

Sorry to replay to this message but I'm having the same problem.
Unfortunately the "attached screenshots" seem to have vanished.

Could you please attach them again?

Thanks,

Bob
