View Full Version : SetupBuilder and LsZip exe's freezing?

Hi,

I have just started having a problem with Clarion 9.1 Applications that
use Lindersofts LsZip. They compile fine but when I go to run the exe,
they freeze. When I check the processes using Task Manager or Processes
Monitor I can see multiple instances of the exe have been created. None
of these instances can be terminated without a reboot.

I have tested using one of the LsZip example applications and get the
same problem e.g. Backrest.app

Even more bizarrely, the Setup programs I have recently created using
Setupbuilder are doing exactly the same thing. Has anyone else
experienced this? (Note: get the same problem on multiple Windows 7 PC's)

My PC Setup:
============
Clarion 9.1.0 11529 EE
Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) Service Pack 1 (build 7601)

SetupBuilder Developer 2015 version 8.5.4754

I also have SetupBuilder 10 Installed but I am not currently using it.

Cheers
Steven

As an additional note, my Clarion 6.1 compiled versions of the same
applications (using LSZIP) run fine????

Bloody AVAST !!!!

Set folder Exclusions in Settings > Active Protection > File System and
all is well again.

A whole afternoon wasted trying to track this down. Who knows why Avast
started singling out the Clarion 9.1 versions of these exe's

Our office is an AVAST! free zone <g>

http://www.lindersoft.com/forums/showthread.php?44267

AVAST! blocked and killed all kind of programs on our machines. This was a
nightmare. One day (auto-update was disabled) it updated itself to a new
version and this even blocked our licensing system. Enough was enough <g>.

Reminds me of a neighbor's "watchdog" from some decades ago.

Loved everyone - except my neighbor, who he would bite from time to
time. Even allowed a couple of burglars to rob the place. Neighbor got
rid of him after that.

I've rarely had issues with ESET. Been using them for years.
