Web Updates until licence expiry date

If my app has a licence expiry date, after which no new updates can be
downloaded, what is the best way to enable a user to update to the last version
available to them prior to their licence expiry?

1. Keep full installs of each version available for download?
2. Keep a series of updates available - how would that work with SB?

Can I run a "Check for Updates" up to a specified date, and only update to the
specified version?

Is this concept covered in the help?
