Hi all,

To my big surprise when testing out new installs, they are all showing
up as "Unknown Publisher" on my Windows 7x86 TEST VM machine, even if
windows is reporting both SHA1 and SHA256 signatures in place! See

Latest SB update from this morning.

They show correctly on Windows 8.1x64. Will try later on my Win10
laptop at home. They also show correctly on my Win7x86 development VM.

Any ideas why this would work correctly on one machine but not another?

Best regards,

As a complete WAG... have you installed Windows Updates on that VM?

If not, the information on root certificates that it trusts may not be up to
date.

That could be it. However, the funny part is that I have NOT updated my
Win7x86 machine where I build the installs since early 2015 because it
can STILL codesign SHA256 (later updates to win7 stopped that)<g> This
machine reports it correctly.

Yeah, just checked and that other VM has never been updated;) Didn't
realize that - thanks for the pointer!
