View Full Version : Comodo certificate

Hi all,

I've got a certificate from Comodo and the link to it. But now I'm not
sure if there is still some issues with what browser I can use? I had
to fire up Firefox to do the order as both IE or Edge or whatever it's
called and Chrome caused errors. FF worked;)

So, can I use whatever browser to fetch the certificate or do I need to
jump through hoops?

BTW: The order process and verification was fairly painless this time:)

Best regards,

Arnór,

if you have used Firefox to order the certificate then I would suggest to
use Firefox to collect it. The certificate should make it directly into the
FF certificate store (don't forget to pray <g>) and then you can export it
as .p12 and rename to .pfx.

BTW, if Microsoft IE or Edge failed then the ActiveX security settings were
set too high.

Please keep us posted.

Friedrich

ROFL!

When it comes to computers this is my default position these days. It
is a bonus if anything works as advertised.

When I go into "View Certificates" and go to the "Your Certificates" tab
it lists the one. Then I go to "View" and finally get the "Export"
button. However, the only file types listed are X.509 (PEM, DER,
PKCS#7) - see: http://screencast.com/t/21e8slJd

Did I do something wrong?

Hi Arnór,

PKCS#7 would not be the correct certificate "type". You need PKCS#12.

Thanks SO much for that! Apparently export and backup are not the same
things! From FF you back up the file to .p12, but export to p7.
Whatever, I've got it now;)
