View Full Version : Exception to AntiVirus

Hi Friedrich,

We find we have to manually add an exception to AVG (typically) for our
workstations that access the application (via a shortcut to the server
installed application). Is it possible to do this automatically from the
installer? This would make our life much easier. The exe is signed, the
server program folder has been added as a share and everyone is added for
access.

This appears to be our last hurdle in an otherwise seamless install (and
auto-update) system.

Thanks

Geoff

as far as I know, there is no API in AVG for a third party to
programmatically update the AVG settings (this would be considered a
security hole). AVG says that it has to be done manually according to the
necessity of the user.

Glad MS thinks it's ok to add windows admins and other holes via setup
apps :)
