All,

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is available and there is a new SDK. I know
that some developers are always looking for the latest SignTool.exe version.

You cannot legally redistribute the Microsoft Authenticode code-signing
technology (e.g. SignTool.exe). But SetupBuilder 10 customers can use our
small (210 KB) "Get SignTool V10" program developed with SetupBuilder 10.
This software can detect your SetupBuilder environment and download and
install SignTool.exe Version 10.0.16299.15 directly from the official
Microsoft server into your SetupBuilder 10 \Lib folder. You can even use it
to update an older SignTool.exe to the latest version.

*New* version 10.0.16299.15 (Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and later):

*Old* version 10.0.10240.16384 (Windows 8.1 & 10) is still available here:

I downloaded the latest SDK on Monday - is this newer? Haven't
installed it yet, so I still have time;)

Both the latest "Windows 10 Fall Creators Update SDK" (downloaded on Monday)
and the new "SB SignTool V10 Build 16222.15 Download Tool" install the same
SignTool.exe version (10.0.16299.15).

:-)

BTW, if you are using the SDK to install it, I would suggest to remove (or
rename) the external SignTool "signtool.exe.manifest" file. It gives a
side-by-side configuration error on quite a few machines. This is not
related to SetupBuilder (it's a bug in the SDK).

As a result, the code-signing process fails silently (see attached
screenshot). Removing or renaming the manifest file fixes the issue. The
"SB SignTool V10 Build 16222.15 Download Tool" does not install the
manifest, so no action to be taken.

Thanks! I'm building a new machine so I'll need to remember that;)
