View Full Version : Empty directories not installed, when Wildcard is used

Hello Friedrich,

I had to learn that, when I set to install an entire directory with all
sub-dirs recursively by using *.*, then those empty sub-dirs do not get
installed on the target system.

I have to have some bogus files in each empty sub-dir. I added a
Description.TXT with something like "In this directory you will find
blabla".

Now all folders are installed, which, of course, is no wonder, as they are not
empty anymore.

Is that a intended behaviour?

That is correct and expected. The wildcard is used in the "Install
File(s)..." function and the option is "Recurse subfolders".

To add all files and (empty) subfolders, you have to use the "Files and
Folders" Visualizer -> click "Toggle to add folder(s) and file(s).

Yes, 100%. An "Install File(s)..." function can only install files (and
create the target folder for that file).

okay, finally found that (the smallest one of all!) <g>

Now I have all empty folder filled with at least one description file (which is
not bad at all), so I hope that this new setting doesn't blow up with the next
compile....

Thansk for the weekend-service!
