Friedrich,

One of my 3rd party installers used this and when I asked what this was
about, he referred me to you. What is that for?

Hi Russ,

The original Clarion 6 installer is unable to write to the WIN.INI file and
to update the system path environment variable on Windows Vista and Windows
Server 2008. These actions require a Vista-aware installer with
administrator execution level privileges.

The above "c6_vista_fix.exe" fixes this.

<G>

Yes, it's just for the damn 3rd party installers so they can auto-detect the
correct Clarion installation folder under a Vista/2008 environment :)

Hi Russ,

Correct. I run this as part of my installs if it hasn't been run
before. I install and run it as the very first thing in the install,
which means that once they get to pick the clarion version, this is
already fixed:) I set a key in the registry to prevent this from
being run multiple times and that key is not uninstalled.
