There are often times when I need to remind myself to do thing before making
a new build. i.e. a sort of checklist before compiling. Things like making
sure I have cleared down a file, incremented the version number (heaven
forbid that I may forget that <g>).

It would be nice if on scripts, we could have a user defined message pop up
which we could then remind ourselves to check that we have done things.
This would be especially true in 6 months time when we have added a new
feature to a little used product which needs to have things set up before a
build and these have been forgotten in the mists of time.

Hi Simon,

<bg> :)

BTW, what about using the new #msgbox script item? BTW, I can add a Yes/No
button option to continue/abort the compilation process.

Thanks,
Friedrich

Hi Friedrich

I presumed that the messagebox function was there to show a message the end
user whe they are running the final exe rather than at compile time?

Simon,
I hadn't noticed that either.
There's a #msgbox in the Script Management section and a separate MessageBox
item in the User Interface section.

I have added an option to display an OK and Cancel button now. For example,
you can display a message box (when compiling).

"Simon, did you really increment the version number? Press OK to continue
and Cancel to abort"

Thanks Friedrich

That's exactly what I wanted. I will never now post an update without
incrementing the version number! <g>
