Friedrich,

Would it be possible to implement compiler variables that carry the current
script file name and line number?

Mark,

Not sure about that. How to "fill" the values of these variables
(especially the line number)?

Thanks,
Friedrich

Friedrich,

No problem. I'm getting lost in the debugging process and was thinking line
numbers would add some clarity to my script based debug messages. I've dumped
the Message Box in debugging and am now using OutputDebugString() with
DebugView. It's turned out to be a vast improvement over what I was doing as
it retains history and doesn't interrupt the flow of the UI.

Mark,

Hmm, very interesting.

BTW, I think I can provide a mechanism so you have access to the line
numbers. If you still need it, just let me know and I'll investigate this.

Thanks,
Friedrich

Friedrich,

That's very generous, but using OutputDebugString() really gets me what I
need. I can now run through an entire script and sit back and review the
debug output independently of the script itself. Line numbers might save a
few seconds in locating a specific line of code, but that doesn't seem worth
the effort on your part.
