Hi

Please look at the attached image and tell me if I am imagining it, or is SB
wrongly saying that there is no new version for file RDF.DLL....

See tthe bottom Patsh3 and Patch2 directories holding the different versions
......

Kind Regards

Ben

Sorry, but it's **absolutely** impossible to answer your question with the
data you provided.

You can send the script, a test original and the patch file(s) to support
(at) lindersoft (dot) com and someone here will check this for you.

Hi

I am sorry .....

The new file for patching is 1139712 bytes
The file in 1 (and patch 1) is 1139200
The file in 2 (and patch2 ) is 1138688
The file in 3 (and patch 3) is 1139712

All these files are used to build up a patch.

it seems that all the different versions of the file is not considered for
the patch.

I sent you the files, in their directories and the SB6 file to support AT
lindersoft

It's about 2 MB big...

Kind Regards

Ben

From the screenshot you posted, the RDF.DLL located in "Patch1", "Patch2"
and "1" were accepted. Only the file in "Patch3" is identical to the source
file and is skipped.

Ben,

The zip you sent gives all the information we need. See attached WinZip
screenshot. Files in "\NewFile" (your new file) and "\NewFile\Patch3"
(previous file) are completely identical. The same is true for the files
located in "\NewFile\1" and "\NewFile\Patch1". Absolutely identical files
(so this patch is also not required because it generates the same code).

That means the SetupBuilder compiler was correct :)

Does this help?

The SetupBuilder compiler created *from* the NEW rdf.dll (located in your
\NewFile folder) a patch for the PREVIOUS rdf.dll files located in "\1",
"\Patch1", and "\Patch2". Because the rdf.dll file in the "\Patch3" folder
is completely identical to your NEW rdf.dll, this patch is skipped.

BTW, the rdf.dll files in "\1" and "\Patch1" are also completely identical -
that means you can remove one of these patches because both create the very
same binary patch code.

Hope this helps.

BTW, the compiler only says that the original RDF.DLL and the RDF.DLL
located in ..\Patch3 have the same binary contents. In this case, there is
nothing to patch and so the process is skipped.
