View Full Version : Build #1267/1270 Maintenance and Support Plan problem

All,

Under certain circumstances SB5.1 build #1267 and #1270 display an "Invalid
Plan ID" even if you still have quite a few month of free updates. This is
caused by a buffer overrun bug in our protection system. I think we have
fixed this now and the next web update should solve the problem.

This bug does not effect your compiled setup.exe programs.

You should also be able to initiate the next web update (when available)
even if your Plan ID is marked as invalid. The web update installer located
on the server verifies that a Maintenance and Support Plan ID is valid, not
the IDE on your system.

We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

Friedrich

Is this a manifestation of the problem I was having and we were discussing by
private email?

Brent,

Yes, I think this is the case. But in #1270 I made it even worse. The
problem is that the installer includes a "buffer overrun detection"
feature - but it did not detect the bug :-( I hope it's fixed now in our
latest internal source codes.

This IDE bug does not effect your compiled setup.exe programs.

Thanks,
