View Full Version : SB51 Developer Edition and IIS Support

All,

The next SB51 Developer Edition build comes with built-in support for IIS
(Internet Information Services) Web Servers that are included with Windows
2000 and Windows 2003 Server Editions. It's now possible to check if (and
which) IIS is installed. It's also possible to create/remove virtual
directories and install filters. This new feature enables you to install
websites and filters in IIS. The installer uses ADSI interface pointers to
modify the IIS metabase.

If your installation requires support for IIS, which (built-in) IIS support
features would you like to see in future SB51 versions?

Thanks,

Hi,

I use SetupBuilder now for IIS .... but I do all the setup parameters
manually. :-)

If you are looking at things to add, look at adding SQL Database
installation support. (Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
:-)

Thank you Robert. Built-in support for Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL is
already on the drawing board ;-) Sybase and Oracle support is a good idea.

Hi Friederich,

yes this sql would be a very good idea as we are curently getting our soft
microsoft certified for sql server under our "msdn" ism subscirption and it
would be really fine tobe able to install the server and a database etc
through you rather than others or manually..

btw : for those interested microsoft under this ism scheme is - for
certified partners as we are - offering sql 2005 server for free in
unlimited quantities for our clients if...we buy cals from them...and they
sell them at some 300$ per 5 or something like that...we just have to have a
turnover of some 120 cals in 2 years....

We would like to be able to enable parent paths on an IIS virtual directory
(e.g. VD properties dialog, virtual directory tab, configuration button,
options tab, enable parent paths tick box), and being able to configure the
security account used on the Directory security tab on the VD properties
dialog Edit button. Also the execute permissions on the Virtual Directory
tab

Thanks,

Jean-Pierre,

Thank you. I hope you don't mind if I contact you if I have any further
questions - I am not a SQL 2004 Server expert ;-)

Thanks,
