FORWARD LOOKING STATEMENT: This release contains forward-looking statements.
There are certain important factors that could cause Lindersoft's future
development efforts to differ materially from those anticipated by some of
the statements made above. Among these are the anticipation of the growth of
certain market segments, the positioning of Lindersoft's products in those
segments, the competitive environment in the software industry, dependence
on other products, changes to operating systems and product strategy by
vendors of operating systems, and the importance of new Lindersoft products.

Request # 8

> How does one get the upgrade to the latest Setup Builder for Clarion 6.2
> EE?
Softvelocity has never replied to my many requests and your web site
suggests that I contact them for the upgrade???

Thanks

Nick,

Sorry, but I cannot comment on the release date for "SetupBuilder 5 for
Clarion". The Clarion edition is distributed through SoftVelocity. We
are only developers of "SetupBuilder 5 for Clarion", not its distributor.

We distribute the full SetupBuilder 5 Professional and Developer editions.
The latest SetupBuilder release is version 5.2 build 1321, and a new build
will be available this week.

Does this help?

Friedrich

Awsome stuff, but there is serious disappointment that you are still
not working on the direct SB2Brain interface;)

Hi John,

Yes, we already have an internal SetupBuilder version to compile native MSI
installations. It will be available in a future SetupBuilder version (see
roadmap).

But of course, you'll lose quite a few of the nice SetupScript power
features because MSI is not very flexible (e.g. there are many limitations
when trying to work with simple constructs such as an "else" condition or
loop, etc.)

It is a shame that 90% of the development effort is going to the "Developer version".

But I guess that is business :-(

John,

Hmm, 90%? Let me see... I have listed the 14 top features for 2006. 8 top
features are exclusive to the Developer Edition, right. But it means that
43% (NOT 10%) of the new listed features are also available in the
Professional Edition.

Let me know what you think.

What was the outcome of possible rebasing from within SetupBuilder
Friedrich???

Colin,

This feature is still in review status (it's not a trivial task). We are
not 100% sure if the compiler can handle this automatically (so we have not
listed it here).

Hi Friedrich

My math was off a bit there and I apologize.

I have been studying the sb5 .PDF recently and it seems that some features I read
about and think, "Now I could use that", then read the requirements clause and I find
it is not in the pro version. Some of these are simple things, such as "search for
file", "unzip files", "zip files", "create unique backup file".

Now, I concede that there are several advanced features in the Dev version that I
would like to have, such as the "implement security" features.

It does look as if I will gladly upgrade some time in the next month or two.

I think it is a great product, whatever version.
