I am not yet a registered owner of SetupBuilder (but will be very soon).

Question: How to change the file information displayed after right click of the generated setup.exe file in Windows Explorer.

Thanks in advance.

One more question.

The file size of our current setup.exe compiled with InstallShield 10.5 is about 6.5 MB. The same setup.exe compiled with SetupBuilder 5.2 (demo) is only 1.95 MB (which is fantastic). But did I do something wrong? I checked this and all files are installed without any problem. Do our customers need some kind of "runtime" to execute our SetupBuilder setup.exe? As a side effect, the setup.exe is MUCH MORE faster than the InstallShield installer. Well done!

I hope it does not need any runtime library.

Thanks,

Thomas

Thomas,

In SetupBuilder 5, you can specify information about the product for the version resource of the installation executable. The user accesses this information from within Windows Explorer by right clicking on the setup file and choosing Properties.

General Information Properties -> Version Resource tab.

Thomas,

No, the small overhead is not a bug but a feature ;)

SetupBuilder 5 provides a state-of-the-art and ultra-low-overhead compiler and linker technology. Our product creates installations with the industry's smallest overhead.
