I just renewed my Maintenance and Support Plan. The ID I got back via
e-mail is 121 char long!! Would that be correct? Seems like a little
overkill to me. If it is true I sure don't want to have to enter that
somewhere to login to something.

Yes, this is correct. It's a strong encrypted key. Please "copy and paste"
the code into your maintenance code dialog.
