I wonder a bit about its possible.
For a new product, we are sending a CD with a setup that ois supposed to
autostart.
My customers have absolutely no knowledge about administrators etc, and
expect the cd to start automatically (autorun.inf), and the install to run
without any action from their side until the program starts in the end.
What they don't want to be asked about is ab administrators login - Quite
often its a son who has installed the PC, and the use the PC without any
logon.

As I have understood, its nessecary to have administrators rights to write
to [program files] and to [ROOT], and as I need to install to both a
program- and a data folder its seems impossible.

Can it be done, or?

Hi Edvard,

This is not possible because the elevation prompt under Vista (with UAC
enabled) is displayed for all applications that request administrator
execution level privileges. Even for Vista's own applications and functions
(e.g. Change Date/Time). So this cannot be done "silently".

Does this help?
