View Full Version : Make a folder based upon a variable.

I was back in a SB4 file yesterday - It really looks old now!
One facility, I have not been able to copy from the old SB4 is a variable
based folder.
If I add a folder in 'Files and Folders', I cannot change the 'location' (Or
I cannot figure out how to) to %DATAFOLDER%, which is quite an important
folder for me, meaning that I have to look for the files in the Script
Editor.

BTW Vista Data folder - Has it a variable name?
On my PC its:
ProgramData=C:\ProgramData

I am using C:\BBSOFT\[PROGRAMNAME]

Under Vista, but C:\Programdata\[PROGRAMNAME] must be better.

Best regards

Add the %DATAFOLDER% and mark the "Absolute folder path specification" in
the properties (see attached screenshot). Then add all your subfolders and
files.

Does this help?

Did the trick - Thanks.
I wonder a bit why the manually inserted Instal files to %DATAFOLDER% is not
shown in the 'Files and folders' view after i have made my %DATAFOLDER%
folder.
But, OK, its not important.
Just have to remember to do it right.

All files referenced to %DATAFOLDER% (created in the lower left browse) are
displayed in the Files and Folders View (see attached screenshot).
