View Full Version : OUTPUTDIR computation

Friedrich,

It looks like to define a variable output path, one needs to use a command
line variable. I cant seem to be able to compute it at compile time in the
script (like I can the exe name). Is that correct? Or am I missing
something. Would be great to be able to compute this at compile time in the
script.

Please try the following:

In the "General Properties", set [OUTPUTDIR] to [MY_OUTPUTDIR] and [EXENAME]
to [MY_EXENAME]. See attached cv1.gif.

In the script, define two new compiler variables: MY_OUTPUTDIR and
MY_EXENAME. Those define the location and exe name from the script. See
attached cv2.gif

Output should be script driven now (see attached screenshot cv3.gif).

Does this work?

Hi Geoff,

PMFJI: Can I close the "OUTPUTDIR computation" (September 26) thread on the
SetupBuilder newsgroup?

I already contacted you via private email, but I fear your server
"blacklists" our domain.

Ahhh - I went on leave and am still recovering (from support <g>). I seem to
recall doing something along these lines, but not getting much joy. I'll
revisit it armed with this info. Do you know if this is something introduced
after version 6.7.2219 (which is the version we're on)?

Hmm, good question. Just checked this and it works in 6.7.2219. *But*
there seems to be a compiler limitation/problem (also in the latest 2390
build and SB7). You have to switch to Script Editor mode to compile it
(does not work from the command line). Item in review.

Thanks,
Friedrich

Fixed (compiler improved) in the latest internal SB6 and SB7. It will be
available in the next maintenance build.

Thank you!
