That is just it. I have the shield but I do not get the UAC confirmation message. However, I know it is on because I get it when I go to Clarion.

What else can cause this shield to appear?

BTW, Windows 7 displays a Shortcut that has the yellow and blue UAC shield icon on only it if the application (or the Shortcut Compatibility Properties) requests administrator execution level privileges -- clicking the Shortcut icon will result in a UAC prompt confirmation.

    Tim,

Is your application UAC-aware or is it a "legacy" application?

Administrator rights and requesting administrator execution level privileges
are different animals in a UAC-aware operating system.

Blue and Yellow Shield in Front of the Icons.

I guess I am confused like usual. I thought the little blue and yellow
shield in front of the icons meant that they had to run in administrator
mode. However, I just got my app to compile in setup builder. It does NOT
need administrator rights however, I still have the shield. Can anyone tell
me what this means and how to get rid of it. The app runs find and does
NOT request an upgrade in rights to administrator.
