    Bob,
I know your post was a few years ago, but here's my dealings with Godaddy.
I was a customer of theirs for 10 years and had over 15 web registries with them and used their hosting for a few web sites. A few years ago, one of their sales people lied about when my sites would be up for renewal, and a few days later, my web site went to their default parking page. I called and they wanted about $1000 for me to get my domain names back and now they actually own the best one and it was for sale for over $2500. Instead of working with a customer who has given them business for 10 years, they decided to stab me in the back.
I will never do business with them again.

I apologize for the delay. This was a backup site for me while my regular was getting rebuilt. But right after I posted this my site came back up and I was able to get downloads working on it. Local site is Linux and the GoDaddy is IIS.

But I will go back in and try to wrap up this issue to close my post.

    Thanks... Bob

    Bob,

can you post (or send to my e-mail) the link to your manifest file. Then I can check what kind of error is reported from your server. BTW, can you download the manifest file from your browser? Just want to make sure it's not a typical MIME error. In most cases, .exe files are not a problem when running IIS. But other file types (e.g. .INI) do not work by default and you have to set up MIME types.

    Similar to this:

No Joy 5060 Error on GoDaddy

I have been using the web update (wupdate & wucheck) successfully for several years. My regular site has been crashing pretty hard so I set up an alternative site with GoDaddy with an IIS server. I have no problems downloading the full installation package from the site using the browser but when I use the wucheck to find a program change I get the infamous "Cannot download server manifest file. Net error 5060" message.

I had to modify the folder structure on the setupbuilder projects and I am not sure if what I use to download through the browser is the same syntax I should use in the project.

Is there a way I can trace or debug what wucheck wants or is seeing when it checks for the update?

I have the ftp folder under httpdocs/ftp/tkw for example. The web update is under the tkw folder ie. httpdocs/ftp/tkw/web8 .... tried to keep this brief but will provide more info that may help you.

    Thanks
    Bob
