    Rich,

Windows displays this text and it's not a SetupBuilder "feature". The Windows system reads the information from the standard registry entries. It's standard Windows functionality (see attached screenshots).

If it does not display on your Windows machine then it is not related to the installation. Perhaps some kind of corrupt "cache" on this specific machine.

    Friedrich,
Adding the "/pa" option to the "Signtool verify" command did allow my setup program to be successfully verified. Thanks for that link.

But, there must still be something I am overlooking in order to get a company name to appear under the product name on the add/remove programs window.

I notice that "SetupBuilder 10 Developer" does not appear with a company either, on my computer. Here's a screenshot of it:

    Rich,

are you sure you are using your certificate (PFX) from Sectigo and not a self-signed test certificate?

Re: Windows 10 Settings Apps & Features: show Publisher or Subtitle under Application

    Hi Rich,

no, the test was done with a regular (non-EV) code-signing certificate from Comodo / Sectigo (electronic download).

Re: Windows 10 Settings Apps & Features: show Publisher or Subtitle under Application

    Friedrich,
So I just tried the command "signtool verify MYINSTALLER.exe" and it returns:

"SignTool Error: A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root
certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider."

I know it is probably a question for Sectigo, but perhaps as a re-seller partner you could answer: Is it normal that the Sectigo code-signing certificates are not trusted or have I made a mistake with purchasing / installing my certificate?

    Friedrich,
In your screen shots above, was that test done with an "EV code signing certificate?"

My code-signing certificate was purchased as a regular code-signing certificate from Sectigo and delivered as an electronic download to IE, not on a hardware device. Is that why Windows refuses to fill in the "Publisher" field for the code-signed installer I am distributing?

Re: Windows 10 Settings Apps & Features: show Publisher or Subtitle under Application

    Rich,

see attached screenshots. You only have to enter the information to be displayed in the "Add/Remove Programs" Publisher field and code-sign your un-/installation with a trusted certificate.

    Does this help?

Windows 10 Settings Apps & Features: show Publisher or Subtitle under Application

How do I make SetupBuilder show a subtitle under the Application Name listed in Windows 10, Settings, Apps & Features?

A few programs display a second line of text underneath the Application Name field on the “Settings / Apps & Features” page on my Windows 10 computer. Text in this second line is searchable, so I would like to add a Company Name for the product I install with SetupBuilder.

If I right-click my application’s entry in the Windows Start Menu I can select “Uninstall”. This opens the old style “Programs and Features” window where I can see my Application Name in the first column and my company name in the Publisher column.

Apparently, the optional line of text under an Application’s Name on the “Apps & Features” window is not considered the “Publisher”. I made a script with sample text in every field in the "Add/Remove Programs" section of my script but none of those fields ended up on the Windows 10 / Settings / Apps & Features page.
