    Re: Two Code Signing Questions

    Hello,

I think the following can help:

There is not really a "renewal" process for code-signing certificates if you have purchased a certificate in the past. Even if Comodo has you on file, you always have to request a new one and go thru the entire (identity validation) process again. But if you quote your previous Comodo order number in any correspondence with them and if you place a new order using the same company information and Comodo should speed up the validation process.

    Two Code Signing Questions

Two things about code signing of EXE files.

    1. Private registration - Many websites use private registrations to prevent hijacking attempts and to head off scamers who spam your registration address or contact information. How do you handle the Comodo registration if the website does not list you as the owner, but lists the private registrar as the owner/contact?

    2. Moved or new phone - Renewing is easier than a first time registration because the issuer (Comodo) already has you on file. However, what if you have moved to a new address or if your phone number has changed? For example, sometimes the phone company assigns you a new area code because a crowded area is being split into two area codes?
