Comodo SSL tip
Don't use google chrome to manage your SSL on the Comodo site.
After a few days of "trying again", I finally realized it just doesn't
work right with Chrome. <g>
IE seemed to do the job. Didn't try another browser.
Couple more tips:
I made a couple of mistakes on this order, and it really puts a hitch
in your gitalong to un-screw those screwups.
Mistake 1: entered the company PO box for the address. I thought it
was only the billing address that they wanted there. But nope.
Mistake 2: Used the company phone number. Since the number that you
give them is the number that they use for phone verification, you want
to use the phone number that you actually will be answering.
That was enough to make this a very frustrating ordeal.

+1
According to Comodo, Google Chrome does not support chained certificate
enrollment. What does this mean? Well, I have no idea <g>.
I only trust Microsoft Internet Explorer when it comes to Microsoft
Authenticode certificates. As far as I know, Mozilla Firefox also works
100% fine.

And what about the XP thing, is that still required?

No, it is not required. You can request the certificate from any UAC-aware
operating system (including Windows 8.1) and receive it in form of a .PFX
file. But it is recommended to use Internet Explorer. Mozilla Firefox
works fine too.

Re: Comodo SSL tip
The problem wasn't with Chrome. The problem was that chrome blocked a
popup window. When I enabled popups for comodo.com, chrome worked fine
for this.
