India GST Tax Collection - July 1, 2017
Indian customers:
Please note that there will be a change to Indian sales tax legislation: the
Service Tax of 15% will be replaced by a Goods and Service Tax (GST) of 18%.
This tax rate will be applicable to sales of electronic services or
digitally downloadable products/services by non-resident vendors. In order
to be compliant with these legal changes, Digital River will start
collecting an Indian GST of 18% for all sales to shoppers located in India
starting July 1, 2017.
If you are concerned about definitely getting your order sales tax free, you
can use our "Order Tax-Free" payment option.

Do we ALL have access to Tax Free option?
I don't think we should be allowing DR to collect our tax money, which we
shouldn't be paying anyway.

All sales taxes collected by DR are remitted to the appropriate taxation
authorities. As of January 2015, DR has to collect sales tax on behalf of
the state governments of all U.S. states that have sales tax. In some of
those states, sales tax might or might not be collected depending on the
contents of your shopping cart. Some states only require the collection and
remittance of sales tax on orders that contain *physical* products to be
shipped to the customer. In the following states, sales tax will only be
collected on physical products:
- Arkansas
- California
- Florida
- Georgia
- Idaho
- Maryland
- Missouri
- Nevada
- Oklahoma
- South Carolina
- Virginia
If you are located in one of the above states and you place an order that
includes no shippable items, no sales tax will be collected.
BTW, U.S. customers whose organizations are tax-exempt can receive a refund
of the sales tax collected on their orders.
Yes, all have access to the "Tax Free" payment option.

I think Wesley Snipes chose that option once.
