SetupBuilder 5 and Windows Vista (Beta 1)
All,
We are happy to announce that our SetupBuilder 5 Installation System is
compatible with the new Windows Vista Beta 1 (Build 5112). Both the
SetupBuilder IDE (compiled with Clarion 6.2 #9047) and the resulting
setup.exe files work fine.
We have added native (built-in) Windows Vista support to our internal
SetupBuilder 5 build #1222. This will be part of the final SB5 release.
More information will be available very soon.

Re: SetupBuilder 5 and Windows Vista (Beta 1)
I can confirm I've also run our SB installer and webupdate on Vista and
it worked great.
Be aware Vista is only beta 1 though. A lot changed in XP between Beta
1 and release.

Quite a few developers are interested in a screenshot of SetupBuilder 5
running on Vista.
I have uploaded a screenshot to our web site at:

BTW, this is the standard "Aero" Vista Theme

I always knew that Microsoft wanted the OS X look and feel.

Absolutely.
This morning I read (in a Mac magazine) that Vista looks like OS X.

At first I couldn't figure out what was with the smudging on some of the
screen shots. And then I realized it was intended semi-transparency.
Maybe it looks better in real life.

I have tested SB5 intensively on Vista and to be frank, I don't like the new
Vista look and feel.
My wife loves it, btw.

Re: SetupBuilder 5 and Windows Vista (Beta 1)
Friedrich,
It still isn't as nice as the OS X look, but I thought that the new graphic
engine gave the ability to do theme's more like OS X going forward. I don't
think the skinable pieces made it into the first beta.
