Re: How do I run 2 setup programs

Yes, I think it should have it's own GUID but should uninstall with the base product.

How do I run 2 setup programs

I have a situation where I have two different products that make connections to QuickBooks (one for WinDev and one for Clarion). BUT there is a helper program that works for both.

    I currently...
  3. Re: Copied and modified .SB8 installs into old location

Perhaps you are totally correct? :) Thanks for the help. The names were too similar for me to see that the install folder suggested was not the one I wanted.

Thank you. Problem solved by using...
  4. Copied and modified .SB8 installs into old location

I have two projects that were almost identical in structure so I decided to copy the setup for the 2nd one. I changed all the names and in the script editor I did a search for the old name and got...
  5. Re: How to install Comodo Certificate such that WinDev will find it

Thanks you Friedrich, I did that and it worked out fine.

I would like to know how to get WD to "see" that cert.

  6. How to install Comodo Certificate such that WinDev will find it

Does anyone know how to install a certificate from Comodo in such a manner that WinDev will find it for its exe creation and code signing step?

I realize that this is a long shot asking here, but...
  7. Re: Don't order Comodo Certificate from a VISTA machine

OK using IE on Win 8 that is what I am seeing. Thank you.

The screen http://www.lindersoft.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=3047&d=1376984540 (which is called Cert1.jpg) is different from the actual that I have http://screencast.com/t/SFypEwvE0LG3 in...

YES! Thank you. One small suggestion -- ...sets the INITIAL state.....
  10. Re: Several problems -- most notable running program after installation completes

Thank you. I am sure you can do it as you have already done so many fantastic things.

I am also sure I am not the only one who wishes to ask a question with the default of NO. :)
  11. Re: Several problems -- most notable running program after installation completes

To me "default" implies a choice made by the system with the possibility to change it by a specification.

I can see that if a developer wants to control the initial state of the checkbox by some...
  12. Re: Several problems -- most notable running program after installation completes

Yes, it shows that it CAN be done. But I really, really liked being able to use the Run Programs setting because it was so easy to set up and I could specify command line options very easily.

  13. Re: Several problems -- most notable running program after installation completes

Pretty much. Put the left column on General Information. Then resize by moving the right edge of the screen into the column showing Project Properties MSI Summary..... That fails every time on any...
  14. Re: Several problems -- most notable running program after installation completes

How about taking a leadership step and make the box size flexible? Or allow for two lines of text? There is currently not much room to describe an option.

I don't want to HIDE it, but display...
  15. Several problems -- most notable running program after installation completes

I need to run the program I just installed once or maybe twice depending on circumstances. I used the run programs to set up the programs and the text for the checkboxes.

    Problem #1, the text...

Re: Add multiple files from the same location

Please consider adding DnD support from explorer. Do you use Search Everything? A very powerful and fast way to find files on NTFS disks.

I was not using that Add button, but the one in the panel below it.

Also, I cannot drag and drop from...

Re: Add multiple files from the same location

:) because I did not know D&D would work?

" -or- use the "Add+" button?" -- I don't see an "Add+" button only a green + and Add that will not accept multiple selection. That is what I was trying,...

  20. Re: How to run just installed program as administrator one time

Thank you. I had that but I had used ShellExecute and checked the box and that did not run elevated. I will try it later when I get a chance to be on a system running with UAC and no WinDev yet.

  21. Re: How to run just installed program as administrator one time

Thanks for the reply. I totally agree. Maybe I was not clear enough. I need to do this "Run as Administrator" ONE TIME immediately after installation and never again. That is why I was thinking I...
  22. How to run just installed program as administrator one time

In WinDev if you do not include the full library, it will fetch it from the internet for you the first time you run the program. In Vista and above this execution must be done "As Administrator" in...
  23. Re: Registrations Keys -- Construction and Location

As it has been said, "Locks are to keep honest people honest".

I am not sure if my product will be worth the hacking effort.

    Thanks, Bob
  24. Re: Registrations Keys -- Construction and Location
