    Default Setup types

    Hi Friedrich,

When adding a dialog, there are options to add "Select Setup Types
[Advanced]" and "Select Setup Types [Standard]" However the help on
"Wizard: Define Dialog" has "Setup Type Dialog [Advanced]" and "Setup
    Type Dialog [Standard]"

Anyway, I'm lost. I've added a "Feature" that includes ASA server
install. How do I make that selectable somewhere so it can be
installed? THe help on features only shows how to create one and
delete one, not how to use it... It does say that "Features are
typically offered through the installation UI so that the user..."
That's nice to know, but I'd rather like to know HOW to offer it
through the Installation UI, than WHY!<bg> I know the WHY, not the
    HOW

Ah, found it - Custom Install in the "Feature Properties"

How about adding to the "Features" topic:

"To make the Feature available add a Custom Dialog to your Loop
Wizard. " Or something like that. I don't quite understand the
discrepancy in the names and there is no logical connection between
the two unless you really dig into the help text.

Yes, you are right. I'll change this in the online help and manual,
    thank you!

Most installations offer a Typical, Minimal and Custom install type.
Only the Custom setup type should display the "Custom Install Dialog"
that allows your users to select which features they want to install.
Typical, Minimal, etc. setup types are not customizable.

To make your ASA server install "selectable", you have to use a
    "Check Boxes Dialog".

    Does this help?

How would I hook that up with the feature I have already created in
order to install the files correctly? Since the Custome Install
works, I think I'll just stick with that...

    >Does this help?

The Feature I added shows up on the "Custom Install Dialog" in a tree
entry with a checkbox next to it. It works and lets met check if I
want to install the server feature or not. The install works and
installs the appropriate files depending on if I select th Server
    feature or not.

I think that a diagram of the relationship between Features and Types
in the help would be a good idea. As it is, it is far from clear how
    they interact.

You can't. The "Custom Install" dialog should only be used with the
Custom Setup Type (or if no Setup Type dialog is displayed). You
cannot select/deselect features from within the script.

So if you don't use the Setup Type dialog, you can use the "Custom
    Install" dialog without any problem.

Add a "ASA Server Install" feature and add all required files,
registry entries, etc. to it. Then add a "Custom Install" dialog
(e.g. before the Select Install Folder dialog). That's it

    Okay, thanks.
