Often it is desirable to store leading spaces in variables when concatenating variables. It appears to do a TRIM rather than an RTRIM, thus removing the space. How can I retain the space?

Often it is desirable to store leading spaces in variables when concatenating variables. It appears to do a TRIM rather than an RTRIM, thus removing the space. How can I retain the space?
