    Default SB5 setup problem

    [Friday, January 14, 2005 9:53 PM]

    Hi,

I am playing with SB5 and all worked as expected. But I have changed
something (have no idea what) and now when I run a setup file I got this
    error:

    SetupBuilder 5
This application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience. Please contact the vendor of this installation.
    Error#: 0001:000-3

    What can be the reason???

    sb 5.0.993

    Hello,

What happens if you create a new project? Same problem?

    Thanks,
    Friedrich

    Hi friedrich,

    > What happens if you create a new project? Same problem?

I have created a new project, compiled it and run setup file without any
problem! BUT after I have loaded my "problem" project, compiled it and run
setup file with the same problem. After I have loaded my first (new)
project, compiled and run - I got the same error!!!

    What is going on??

also could you send me a new unlock key so I will try 1014 build.

See private email. Please recompile the projects with 1014.

Error#: 0001:000-3 means the installer was unable to "load" the LSPack
decompression library. If this happens again, please disable your
virus-scanner and try again. Perhaps the virus auto-protection software
scans the file, but does not "unlock" it and the installer initialization
    fails.

I have downloaded 1014 build and ran setup file - I got the same error!!
    Error#: 0001:000-3!
I was confused and have checked message on your site:
"Projects designed with trial versions of SetupBuilder do not expire and can
be used with licensed versions. However, installers built with a trial
version of SetupBuilder will time out after three days and must be rebuilt
    at that time."

So... My PC was worked more then 60 hours (!) without rebooting so I have
rebooted my PC! Now setup for 1014 build is working again! My problem
project (setup file) is working as well! So I not really understand this...
Is this 3 days limitation reason?

No, you have the full version. There is no trial version available at the
moment. Seems to me that the reboot "reset" your virus-scanner (or another
protection software). This problem is not caused by the installer - the
installer was unable to load (LoadLibrary API failed) the decompression
library (perhaps locked by your protection software).

    OK, I see.

No, I not use any program like this.

Yes, that can be the reason.

Thank you very much fot this information.

So could I use current version (sb5 1014) to produce the setups for our
products and put it to use by our clients? Is it save?
