Hi Poul,

SignCode.exe does not support an automated password fill-in method. In all
other installation authoring tools you have to enter the certificate
password manually. Not a good idea if you have an automated build system.
And having to enter the password again and again is boring.

SetupBuilder provides a built-in solution here. We have developed a program
to automatically fill-in the certificate password during the compilation
process. But there are situations where this fails.

The newer SignTool.exe can directly handle passwords (that's the only
advantage).

We'll continue to support the older SignCode.exe in all future SetupBuilder
versions. There may be a problem with the newer SignTool.exe under Vista
and "Longhorn" because "CAPICOM" is not supported any longer. But the
CAPICOM interface is required in order to successfully use the newer
SignTool.exe.

Again, if SignCode.exe works for you, no need to move to SignTool.exe!
