    Default SetupBuilder and Clarion 7.1

    Hello Friedrich,

Question ... is SB still written using Clarion 6.3?

What / When are your plans to use and migrate it to Clarion 7? The reason I
am asking is that since you have one of the largest install bases of a
Clarion product, and it intensively uses Clarion functions, it would be a
great test bed for me to feel comfortable migrating my application to
Clarion 7.1 -- what are your plans?

    Thank you.

    Robert,

If I am well informed SB7 is written partly in c7 since it was released....

DMC version I am releasing today is also compiled in clarion 7.1

    Merci

Yes, the SetupBuilder IDE (sb7.exe) is still written using Clarion 6.3 Build
    9056.

SetupBuilder is a very complex and low-level product. The IDE, including
the compiler, linker and debugger, are pure Clarion source codes. The
installer runtime engine is written using Microsoft Visual Studio 2002,
    2003, 2005 and VS2008 (C, C++, C#) 32-bit and 64-bit compilers.

First, the good news. The sb7.app compiles without any problem in the
latest Clarion 7.1. But - and there is always a "but" in life <g> - the C71
generated sb7.exe does not work as expected. And the same is true for
sb7.exe generated with later versions of Clarion 6.3 (which have many
backported fixes from C7, to both the RTL and the compiler/linker).

SV is already working on it!

    Thank you!

    You answered my question.

When SetupBuilder is mass released using Clarion 7.x, then I would feel
comfortable using Clarion 7.x for roomMaster.

    Please let us know.
