Default SetupBuilder Error message - explanation please?

As you can see from the attached image, this is presented as a SetupBuilder
    error...

Hi Everyone at LinderSoft... Even though this is a question regarding the
installation of FM3, I believe it to be a SetupBuilder problem as it
    presents itself as such...

I'm working on a small application and I decided to upgrade my
installation of FM3. I had 4.32 installed and the latest version is
    4.77.
I did NOT uninstall prior to my installation attempt as this had not
    been required in the past.

My development environment is Windows 7 Professional 64 bit running
Windows XP Mode with Clarion 6.9058.
I downloaded the latest SafeReader and extracted the file from the .SAF
    file.
When I ran the installer, I got the following error message... (see
    the attached image)

As the message indicated, it comes from SetupBuilder 7.
I turned off my windows firewall on the Windows 7 Professional host
and the XP Mode virtual machine
I turned off my Avast antivirus on the Windows 7 Professional host and
    the XP Mode virtual machine
I also copied the file from the drive where I donwloaded it to the XP
Mode desktop to see if there was a problem with the pathing and the
    installer.

In all cases I get the same error message.

I downloaded the FM3 patch file for C6 9054-9058 and tried to install
that but then I was greeted with another error message that said my
    FM3 versions were mismatched.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

I'd like to be able to get FM3 installed

    Ben,

    From the SB help...

    Error 0004:0008

Cause: The installation "runtime" detected a CRC32 data integrity
error while unpacking temporary runtime files in the temporary Windows
    folder.

Solution: The most likely cause for this error is a corrupt download.

    Hi Lee,

Thanks, I'll try downloading it again, but I think their distribution may
have a problem. Or SetubBuilder has a problem with XP Mode virtual machines
    running under Windows 7 Professional

I wonder if this option is in use? (attached image)

I re-downloaded it from the other mirror from Capesoft and it seemed to
install. Apparently, they must have a corrupted download file hosted on the
    main download location.

Sometimes it helps to kill the cache and try again.

    Hi Jeff,

That's true.... It's not a problem now, I got it installed. It could be an
opportunity for Friedrich to clean up the error surrounding the error
message. The message says to turn off your anti-virus and firewall... It
should probably mention that the file might be corrupted or accessing your
temporary folder might be a problem. The error popped up immediately so I
was pretty sure it wasn’t an error created by Capesoft.

I think that would be a mistake. As someone who distributes installs as well, if
they get an error (like a failed validity check as Jeff mentioned), then as a
support person, I must have good advice to give them. Redownloading is
acceptable, but an install that does not work without explanation is not.

Error messages are a good thing. ;-)

DESCRIPTIVE error messages are a good thing ;-) Too high a security level
is not always the same thing as a corrupt download...

Some builds back, Friedrich made the integrity check switch Lee points out
    be turned on by default.

Had Ben's installer been configured that way, it would just have given a
message and not tried to run. For quite some time, I've been among those
strongly suggesting turning on that option.

And Ben says he's on an XP machine. Had it been Vista or Win7, the
corruption would have shown up on the UAC screen (assuming the installer was
code-signed). But the integrity check protects the older OS installations
    as well.

In this scenario, the upcoming SetupBuilder 7.3 installer displays
(automatically) the following error message. See attached screenshot.
