Question How to Put App Shortcut on a Windows 8 Tile?

Can I put my application on one of the tiles in the main Windows 8 screen (not the old style desktop) so that my users don't need to find and use the All Apps semi-hidden access to the equivalent of the old start menu? If so, how?

    Peter,

The "tile" on the Windows Start screen is your old "Start" menu shortcut ;-)

I assume you mean directly on or pinned to the start menu rather then under All Programs which became All Apps in Windows 8.

    Peter,

In theory, "All Apps" in Windows 8 is the former Start Menu in all pre-Windows 8 operating systems.

But in Windows 8, the Start Menu has been replaced by the tile-based Start Screen which provides a very different way of launching applications.
