Now it will be difficult:

Is it possible to create a limited number of backup files. I mean, no
matter how many installations I'm doing.
There should always be present only the last three backup files.

Is that possible?

No, that is not possible. It would break rollback capability.

Nothing prevents you from writing a small program that deletes for example
all .0001 files from the backup folder. But as indicated by Friedrich you
really have to be careful about what you're doing.
