Thread: Errors in edition detection

    Default Errors in edition detection

    Hi,

I seem to be having an issue with setupbuilder developer edition and windows 7 and hope that there is an easy fix.
    Please see the attached image.

Basically, every time I try to do something with core prereqs I get a "Developer Edition not detected" error. As indicated inthe attached image, I do indeed have developer edition installed.

Can anyone assist with some suggestions to assist with this?

    Thanks
    Kel

    Kel,

"Something" (registry cleaner, spyware removal, etc.) damaged your Windows registry and removed the SetupBuilder registry items (see attached screenshot from a x86 VM). As a result, SetupBuilder is not registered with Windows any longer.

BTW, on a x64 machine you have to check the HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node registry branch.

BTW, on Windows 7 x64 the registry items look like this (see attached screenshot).

Do you see this registry key and values on your machine?
