Thread: Desktop shortcut not updating

    Default Desktop shortcut not updating

    Hi Friedrich,

In the latest Build Automator build I changed the installation folder.
But it seems that in _some_ cases at least, when the shortcut exists on
the desktop that it is not overwritten by the new shortcut and the
shortcut points to the old folder.

I seem to recall that there was something special about this but I do
not remember what it was. Do I need to do something extra to make sure
    that the shortcut is replaced?

    Best regards,

    Arnor,

Execute the SB "Refresh Desktop" function.

THANK you! I knew there was a trick, but couldn't for the life of me
    remember what it was!

I think you ran into this one as well in BA! It is definitely needed if
there are any changes to the path etc. for the program.

Yes, that's the typical Windows shortcut "cache" problem.

Stupid computers!<g> I seem to recall running into this years ago and
the shortcut not updating was ringing some faint bells, but I just
    couldn't remember what it was
