Thread: Uninstall seems a bit, well, OFF!

  1. #1

Default Uninstall seems a bit, well, OFF!

    Yeah, OFF - that works!<g>

Text displayed is a bit odd and when you click OK nothing gets
uninstalled. Same behavior from Programs and Features.

This is using the pre-release, sb100_6009_dev.exe

    Hi Lee,

hmmm, looks okay here on my uninstalls (see attached screenshot).

Is yours a "custom" uninstall or a "standard" one? Would it be possible to
send me a small demo project (.sbp)?

    Thanks so much.

Since I have no idea what a "custom" uninstall is I'd say it's a
"standard" uninstall, ie: whatever the smoke and mirrors generate!<g>

I have a lot to do today but if I run into it again I'll get something
to you. I've never had an SB uninstall do this before so it caught me
    a bit off guard!

Just admit it, you setup your website to download the buggy version
just because it was ME! Go ahead, admit it?????<g>

I can confirm that you are using a "standard" uninstall <g>. BTW, you can
add a fully customized "custom" uninstall script in SetupBuilder to fine
tune your uninstall process ;-) But even that would not help here to fix my
    bug.

I emailed a zip with a bare bones script and some screen captures.
Please tell me what kinda of boneheaded mistake I've made!<g>

Thanks for the ZIP. You did not make any mistake -- but I DID <g>

And I'm sure it will be corrected. The idea simply caught me off guard
since I was certain the mistake HAD to be mine. You ARE human!<g>

Apparently I'm the only 3rd party that fully tests their installs, go
figure, I believe it's called OCD! Might need to up my dosage!<g>

If I go back to a release build before C11 support was added
everything works as expected. I even went back to the first build of
SB for C11 and I get the same results - uninstall is flummoxed.

I have some other work to do but I can not release any 3rd party
installs that work like this. HELP!<g>

I've attached a non-signed utterly simplistic script if anyone else
wants to give it a try. It installs correctly it's just that the
uninstall has odd text and fails to do anything when run.
